How to Renew Car Registration in Mississippi
You must apply for a Mississippi car registration renewal before your vehicle’s credentials expire, as driving with invalid license plates or tags is unlawful in the state. If you do not apply for DOR registration renewal before your license plate expiration date, you must do so before the 16th day of the following month or you will begin to incur penalty fees.
Depending on the county where you live, you may be able to renew your registration online without visiting your county tax collector’s office. Mississippi Tag Renewal Requirements
To apply for a license plate renewal in MS, you must complete the process through the Department of Revenue (DOR). Depending on the county in which you live, you may be able to renew your plates online, by mail or in person.
