About Changing Your Address on Your West Virginia Registration
Performing a West Virginia DMV change of address is an important step that you must complete whenever you move from one part of the state to another.
You must change car registration address information after moving into a new home or changing your mailing address, or you risk not receiving future correspondence from the Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV).
In most cases, you can easily update your DMV information online, in person or by mail.
When you change the address on your vehicle registration credentials in person or by mail, the West Virginia DMV will simultaneously update your driver records as well.
However, you will not receive a replacement registration card or driver’s license that displays your new address unless you purchase one in a separate transaction.
