About Changing Your Address on Your Kentucky Registration

You must submit a Kentucky DMV change of address request to your local county clerk’s office whenever your mailing address changes. Depending on where in Kentucky you live, you may be able to submit your request online to avoid a visit to your local county clerk’s office. In Boone County, for instance, you can update the address on your registration credentials by submitting an online request. 

When submitting an online DMV change of address form in Kentucky, you must be able to provide some of the following information:

• The vehicle identification number (VIN) and license plate number of your registered automobile
• Your full name and contact information
• Your mailing address
